Air Ambulance Reporting 

The CAA requires fully insured and self-insured group health plans to report specific air ambulance data for calendar years 2022 and 2023 to HHS.



The new rule requires plans to report information for each air ambulance services claim received or paid during the year. This includes identification information, billing codes, transport information, and claim adjudication information. Sponsors of self-insured plans should reach out to their TPA to determine if they will submit data or if the sponsor needs to do so directly.

Sponsors should also seek confirmation when the reporting is completed. It’s recommended for sponsors to discuss the reporting requirements with their TPAs and service providers as soon as possible.
